The three mile milepost is a modern replacement. It was probably put in place when the area was regenerated in the 1980s. The posts edges are not as rounded as the orginals. The dimensions are different too.The 3.25 mile quarter milepost is the first remaining quarter milepost on the canal and is marked on the current OS maps. The half milepost is marked on the modern OS map but I haven't seen it.
