The fourth milepost is marked on the 1927 OS map, next to a school and opposite Hawthorne Tannery. The half milepost was next to the lift bridge at Litherland and was probably removed when the new concrete bridge was built. The quarter milepost survives, the ground level around it has been lowered exposing more of the post.
