Two miles along the canal and we find the first original milepost. Before it was repainted the paintwork was a negative of the majority of mileposts. The post was black and the text was white. It has since been repainted white with black lettering. The top of the Leeds plaque has been lost, the Liverpool one was complete prior to its repainting. It has lost the bottom of the plaque recently. The quarter and half mileposts are missing, the three quarter mile post is near to Caroline Street Bridge.
