Lollies Bridge takes the A5147 over the canal. The Scotch Piper pub is just up the road from here, one of the oldest pubs in Lancashire. The Scotch Piper, formerly the Royal Oak, was known as Old Lollies. Named after a canal gang foreman who used the pub as his unofficial headquarters. There is no access to the road above from the towpath at the bridge.
